Gili Air Island, North Lombok

Gili Air Island is one of the groups of small islands located in the North Lombok regency. It is a close island to mainland Lombok.  Gili Air is popular for amazing underwater marine life, white sand beaches, and the perfect island to spot sunset.

• Local outrigger boat or public boat from Bangsal harbor, Lombok. The public boat from Bangsal will spend about 15 minutes to get to Gili Air. The boats depart when there are 20 people booked. They offer daily departure with an early schedule at 07.00 am and last at 05.00 pm. The ticket cost is IDR16.000 per person for one way.
• Speed Boat from Teluk Nare, nort Lombok. The speedboat from Lombok to Gili Air offer daily trip based on private service. So you can manage the de[artuer time at your request. The speed boat will take approximately 7 minutes to get to the island.
• Fast Boat from Bali, Nusa Penida, and Nusa Lembongan. The fast boat from Bali to Gili Air offers a daily departure from Pdangan Bai, Serangan, and Sanur. It will take 2 1/2 hours to get to Gili Air from Sanur and 1 1/2 hours from Padang Bai.

Best Activities on Gili Air

The most preferred activity is Diving and snorkeling. Gili Air offers beautiful underwater life. On this island, you can enjoy amazing coral reefs, colorful fish, and turtle points. There are a few amazing dive sites on the northeast of the island with good visibility.

Dive centers on the island are easy to find along the main road, from the east to the west side. The diving cost is the same for every dive center on the island.

The accommodations on the island are from backpackers to midrange Hotels. There are also some villas spread around the island. For the best hotel arrangement, you can book in advance.

During the high season, most hotels are busy, it is hard sometimes to find. So it is better to arrange it in advance. The high season is between June to August. Some are coming from the mid of December to the middle of January every year.
